I will be using "hippie buckets" for my tomatoes and peppers this spring/summer. Great idea and gives me the freedom to not have to water every day.

I set them up with autowatering off a garden timer - 1/2" irrigation hose to 1/4" 5 gallon/hr taps, 1/4" lines to the bottom of the buckets, so that way you can't overwater like top watering might. Water schedule does change though - they can suck the res dry in a day during mid summer.

Several months back I fished two Dasani water bottle coolers out of a dumpster for the big tubs they use as liners.
This week I found big black tubs at walmart for $5 each and would'nt ya know it, the dasani tubs fit into the wm tubs for a perfect SIP planter tub.
I can make two of these mega tubs with on hand supplies. I'll be using them for huge bushes of melons or cukes outdoors but for you guys out west that like to grow massive sativas, I think you can see the beauty I see in what could be possible with cannabis in these mega sip tubs....

This tub will probably take about 20 gallons of soil. I still need to do some more cleaning of all the insulation and crud from the upper tub and drill it out. The wick cup for this massive tub will be a witch hat style bucket lid

Stop the presses we got another SIPs on the market!!! And yes i already have one! Got it at Lowe's today!
It's the City Picker. About a 2'x2' square tub designed just like the earthbox. same fill tube, same tray, same mulch cover.
There's a sparkle in my eye about this one! Perfect size for an LED or 250 CMH grow. Perfect for autos or doing one of my faves...clone to bloom. Also...A lady named Rachael has been journaling city picker tubs on youtube last year if y'all wanna see more
