The final weight on the water cure is 26.3 grams from the 160 g. fresh cut, about 17%. Darkened up over night, fluffy buds and very little smell.

The water cure, - air dry and curing, - and the shake.

I'll get a better smoke report tomorrow, started the day with some ATF and can't really tell about the W/C other than its very smooth to smoke and a good buzz.

    Hey there stagger!

Is it still the right call to jar cure for 30 days after the water cure and dry?

    GG

High GG, the process of the water cure has leeched out the sugars in the buds, so no more curing is necessary. Its the sugars that are being processed by the air cure that brings the sweetness and potency. The water cure is holding at 60% RH in the jar, so it shouldn't mold or be to dry in storage.

The water cure, gram for gram is as good if not better than mid-shelf store bought meds, and is fantastic in a vaporizer. Long lasting cerebral high, some pain relief, and an excellent sleep inducer, with very little morning after effects.

The jar of air cure has only been going for 8 days now, and I'll wait for at least till 2 weeks before I try a pinch for comparison. It gets burped daily, and is holding at 62% RH.

I'm planning on doing a water cure on the trim from my Cherry Pez, harvesting in the morning, to use for cooking. The CP never got the powdery mildew, so I'm curious what the water will look like this time.

Great job and thread stag. You guys got me convinced to try this.
Blue said to use as pure water as possible. Would spring water be good?

You could probably get by with spring water, but it will still have some salts and minerals in it. Distilled or RO are better, you want to pull the crap out of the plant and not soak it in more stuff.

Remember, no cold water and don't shake it up. Pour and drain gently, and leave the trichs on the leaves and buds, not on the bottom of the jar.

Its day 5 and the one big observation I've made is that the Cherry Pez, which had no sign of the powdery mildew, also had no cloudiness in the water. The Papaya, which was badly affected, showed heavy opaque water through the first 6 days, and the Pez is just colored, but has been clear from the start. Also, there was a lot less foam when poured out.
